Motorbike Riders First Aid Courses

International Paramedic College Australia has partnered with industry experts to design and deliver a nationally accredited motorcycle first aid course which is specifically contextualised to treat first aid and accident emergencies for motorbike riders. Whether dirt bike’s motocross, trials or motorbike touring is your thing this course will cover what you should have in a motorcycle first aid kit, how to stop arterial bleeds, management of spinal injuries and fractures common in motorcycle trauma. All the medical emergencies will be covered with a context on remote care to support and care for someone until the ambulance arrives. You can add green whistle pain management training and arterial bleeding and tourniquet use to stop the bleed.

What is motorcycle first aid?

HLTAID011 Provide First Aid is the nationally recognised first aid qualification and as a fully accredited registered training organisation RTO 45284 International Paramedic College Australia has partnered with industry experts to design and deliver a nationally accredited first aid course which is specifically contextualised to treat first aid and accident emergencies for motorbike riders. Whether dirt bike’s motocross, trials or motorbike touring is your thing this course will cover what you should have in a motorcycle first aid kit, how to stop arterial bleeds, management of spinal injuries and fractures common in motorcycle trauma. All the medical emergencies will be covered with a context on remote care to support and care for someone until the ambulance arrives It does not matter if your current first aid certificate has expired, or you are new to first aid training. Simply enrol in the one comprehensive motorcycle first aid training course on a date that suits you.

Optional Green Whistle Pain Management and Arterial Bleeding Tourniquet training

We can add methoxyflurane/penthrox pain relief training to administer the green whistle and stop the bleed training for arterial blood loss to our motorbike first course

What if my current First Aid certificate is expired?

This course covers all you need to know about first aid and gives you a first aid certificate valid for 3 years. This first aid course is suitable for people with or without a current first aid certificate or if you are seeking a refresher training course because your first aid certificate is about to expire or has recently expired, also known as Apply First Aid, Senior First Aid or Level 2 Workplace First Aid or refresher first aid) All accredited first aid organisations like International Paramedic College based in the northern rivers of or National organisations like St John, Red Cross, surf lifesaving, Allen’s training and the Australian Resuscitation Council recommend refreshing First aid skills every 3 years.

Are there any prerequisites to learn motorcycle first aid?

While there are no prerequisites for this course, you will need to have sufficient English language skills to complete the competency-based first aid training. You will also be required to undertake practical training and assessments at floor level, which includes demonstrating CPR on a manikin for two minutes. If you have reduced mobility or a current injury that may make this difficult please call and discuss this with us prior to booking. Participants under the age of 18 are required to provide a consent form completed by their legal guardian. Please download and complete the form. You can submit it by email prior to your training day or hand it to your trainer prior to commencing training.

  • Pre-course study and learning materials provided on enrolment should take 60 to 120 minutes to complete the online assessments depending on your previous experience
