FAQs

Got a quick question before you book? Here are the answers to the most common queries.

Can I do HLTAID009 Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation as an online CPR first aid certification course?

HLTAID009 Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation includes online learning, but it isn’t a 100% online-only certificate. You can complete the theory component online, but you’ll still attend an in-person practical session to demonstrate the hands-on CPR skills. This blended format is what makes the qualification nationally recognised and workplace-ready.

I’ve done CPR before — should I book a refresher or the full HLTAID009 Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation course?

If your certificate is expired (or close to expiry), you’ll usually book the same unit again as an HLTAID009 Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation refresher. Many workplaces refer to this as CPR renewal, but the outcome is the same: you complete HLTAID009 Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation again to refresh your skills and keep your compliance current. If you’re unsure, check what your employer or industry body requires.

What if I need to change my booking?

If you need to move your session, make the change as early as possible to avoid fees and to give yourself the best choice of alternate dates. IPC’s booking terms (including admin and rebooking fees) apply, so it’s worth checking the policy details before you lock in your final time.

Is this CPR course enough, or do I need CPR and first aid together?

HLTAID009 Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation is CPR only. Some roles require both CPR and first aid, while others only require CPR. If your workplace requires first aid and CPR training (or you’re aiming for broader coverage at home), you may be better suited to pair CPR with a full first aid course so you’re covered for a wider range of emergencies beyond resuscitation.

Do you offer on-site CPR training for workplaces?

Yes. IPC can run workplace sessions for teams who need the same unit at the same time. This is a popular option for businesses managing annual compliance, onboarding, or large-scale CPR requirements. It can also reduce downtime by training staff together on-site. Enquire with IPC to discuss dates, group size, and venue requirements.
