FAQs

Below are answers to common Queensland questions about booking, attendance, and training outcomes.

Can I do a first aid course online in Brisbane?

You can complete the theory component online for many courses, which allows you to learn at your own pace before attending. However, nationally recognised first aid and CPR units require a face-to-face practical assessment. In the practical session, you’ll demonstrate key skills, allowing competency to be properly assessed and certification to be issued.

What’s the difference between CPR and First Aid?

CPR is explicitly focused on responding to cardiac arrest. First Aid is broader. It includes CPR plus common emergency responses such as managing bleeding, burns, fractures, shock, allergic reactions, asthma, seizures and other incidents you might encounter at work or in the community. If you’re unsure which you need, a good rule is: CPR is often enough for low-risk compliance, while First Aid is the more complete workplace-ready option.

Is this suitable for Brisbane workplaces?

Yes. IPC training is designed to suit common workplace compliance needs across Queensland. Many employers require staff to hold current CPR or First Aid certification, especially in roles such as education, hospitality, construction, healthcare, fitness, disability support, community services, and events.

Do you offer refresher training in Brisbane?

Yes. Many people complete refresher training to stay current for work or peace of mind. In many workplaces, CPR is renewed annually, while First Aid is renewed every three years (requirements can vary by employer or industry).

Can you run group training for our team in Brisbane?

Yes. IPC can deliver group first aid and CPR training for workplaces, schools, clubs and community groups across Queensland. Group sessions are a practical option when you want consistent outcomes for staff, less downtime, and a simpler way to manage compliance across a team. You can enquire to discuss group size, preferred dates, and whether training is best delivered onsite or at a suitable local venue.
